Spectral Density Analysis: Frequency Domain Specification and Measurement of Signal Stability
نویسندگان
چکیده
Stability in the frequency domain is commonly specified in terms of spectral densities. The spectral density concept is simple, elegant, and very useful, but care must be exercised in its use. There are several different but closely related spectral densities, which are relevant to the specification and measurement of stability of the frequency, phase, period, amplitude, and power of signals. Concise, tutorial descriptions of useful spectral densities are given in this survey. These include the spectral densities of fluctuations of (a) phase, (b) frequency, (c) fractional frequency, (d) amplitude, (e) time interval, (f) angular frequency, and (g) voltage. Also included are the spectral densities of radio frequency power and its two normalized components, Script X(f) and Script %(f), the phase modulation and amplitude modulation portions, respectively. Some of the simple, often-needed relationships among these various spectral densities are given. The use of one-sided spectral densities is recommended. The relationship to two-sided spectral densities is explained. The concepts of cross-spectral densities. spectral densities of time-dependent spectral densities, and smoothed spectral densities are discussed.

For evaluating quality of electrical insulation, it is necessary to measure the property of insulators. Dielectric constant and loss tangent (tans) are two important parameters for determining the property of insulator. The measurement of above parameters is normally based on the time- domain and frequency-domain, which is costly and time consuming. In this study a multiple-frequency binary se...

Purpose: The aim of this study was to characterize prolonged standing and its effect on postural control in elderly individuals in comparison to adults.Materials and Methods: The elderly individuals’ behavior during standing and how demanding such a task is for them, is still unknown. We recorded the center of pressure (COP) position of 12 elder and 15 young participants while they were standin...
متن کاملApplication of Single-Frequency Time-Space Filtering Technique for Seismic Ground Roll and Random Noise Attenuation
Time-frequency filtering is an acceptable technique for attenuating noise in 2-D (time-space) and 3-D (time-space-space) reflection seismic data. The common approach for this purpose is transforming each seismic signal from 1-D time domain to a 2-D time-frequency domain and then denoising the signal by a designed filter and finally transforming back the filtered signal to original time domain. ...

The hydro turbine dynamics have a considerable influence on the dynamic stability of power system. In the study of dynamic stability, the system is modeled by the linear differential equations (small signal analysis). Small signal stability of power systems is needed in all conditions and only is dependent on the conditions of power system performance before commotion occurrence. This paper pr...
متن کاملFree and Forced Transverse Vibration Analysis of Moderately Thick Orthotropic Plates Using Spectral Finite Element Method
In the present study, a spectral finite element method is developed for free and forced transverse vibration of Levy-type moderately thick rectangular orthotropic plates based on first-order shear deformation theory. Levy solution assumption was used to convert the two-dimensional problem into a one-dimensional problem. In the first step, the governing out-of-plane differential equations are tr...
